Who can swim with us at Hydra Swim Academy?

We welcome swimmers of all ages and ability levels, from those starting out to those that are competitive and elite-level athletes. Our sessions are designed to support long-term development whatever your goal.

 

How do I know which session is right for my child or myself?

We offer a telephone consultations to help place swimmers in the most appropriate session based on age, experience, skill level, and goals. Our coaches are happy to guide you through the options.

 

What is Endless Pool training, and how is it different from a traditional pool?

An Endless Pool uses a controlled current, allowing swimmers to swim continuously in one place. This setup enables:

  • Constant, real-time coaching feedback
  • Focused technique correction
  • Adjustable intensity for all skill levels
  • Increased active swim time with minimal downtime

It is especially effective for both learning proper technique and refining competitive skills.

 

What are your opening times?

We run an appointment only service but we can accommodate early morning and evening sessions to suit you! Give us a call and let us know when you want to swim.

 

What do I need to bring with me for my session?

Basics; swimsuit, goggles, swim hat (or buy one of our awesome hats), towel, flip flops.

Optional; swim aids like fins, paddles, snorkels and a pull buoy can be a useful addition to your kit collection. Bring them along if you have them!

 

Are there changing facilities?

Yes we have a changing room for swimmers to use. We ask that swimmers shower before attending and avoid using any creams or lotions. We ask that swimmers go to the toilet before starting the session. Onsite toilets are available but a short walk away.

 

How long will I spend in the water?

Sessions can vary from 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on ability and goals.

 

Can I bring family and friends to the session?

All welcome! On site is Castaway Play suitable for under 11's with a on site Café and Snugburys Icecream Palour.

 

How do I pay for the session?

Bookings are made by contacting Hydra Swim Academy to schedule an appointment. At least a 50% deposit will be required to secure your booking. Remaining payment will be due on the day.

 

Who do I contact if I have more questions?

You can reach us via the 'Home Page', towards the bottom of the page is a 'Contact Us' section with links to social media, email and our mobile. We are always happy to answer questions and help you feel confident about enrolling.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that cancellations are made at least 48 hours before session time. Unfortunately, after this we will expect full payment of the session if an alternative session can not be organised. - see below for full cancellations policy.

 

Do you have parking?

There is a large car park on site for clients to use. It is free.

 

Do you do coaching clinics?

Yes, usually during school holidays with an emphasis on starts and turns.
